Proper candle burning techniques and
maintenance information:
- Always use extreme caution when burning candles.
- Never leave a candle burning while it is unattended or out
of sight.
- Always keep wicks trimmed to 1/4 inch or less throughout the
life of the candle.
- Untrimmed wicks can cause wicks to "mushroom" and
increase the amount of soot output while burning the candle.
Remove any wick debris before re-lighting the candle.
- Do not burn the candle in a draft as it will cause smoking.
- The jar candle should be burned atleast until a full pool of
melted wax appears on the suraface of the candle.
- Keep candles out of reach from children or pets, etc. that could
disrupt the safe burning of the candle.
- Never blow out a candle as this could cause the hot wax to
spatter. Always extinguish the candle using a candle snuffer or
by pushing the burning tip of the wick with a non-burning device
into the melted wax to extinguish the flame. Then re-center the
wick.
- Never burn a candle near flammable materials, such as curtains,
cupboards, linens, paper, or anything else that could catch fire.
- Avoid handling the jar while the candle is burning as it does
get hot. If you must handle the jar when the candle is burning,
do it with extreme care.
- The candle must be burned on a heat resistant surface.
- Discontinue burning when 1/2 to 1/4 inch of unburned candle
wax remains at the bottom of the container to prevent cracking
of the container or burning of debris.
